Author's Note So, I started writing this a long, long time ago, during Season 3 ( a long time before Jump The Shark). I always wanted to write my own extra Winchester sibling fic, though instead of a winsister, I was more interested in the idea of a younger brother who would be close in age to Sam. I wanted to explore how this extra brother would change the dynamic between Sam/Dean/John, what would be the same and what wouldn't, of course, I always intended it to be Dean/Sam wincest ;-) and, so, it became extra interesting to write how extra!brother!Winchester would react to the knowledge that his two older brothers were screwing each other. Anyway, so, months and months later, I've decided to have an amnesty with this fic, I have over 80k written and really no excuse to not post it, except fear. So, here comes chapter 1.

So, I've been told by a few people that this fic is unavailable on the comm where it is currently posted, that is the qaf_giftxchnge so... I am posting it to my own journal.

I wrote this a loooooonnnnnnggggg time ago, Xmas 2006 I think, and it's weird to read it now, as I like to think my writing style has changed a lot, but after reading this, I'm realising that it kinda really hasn't at all. I seem to remember being a bit stuck with this prompt, and I think it shows, as... I don't know, this never really worked for me. But, anyway, in the interests of completeness, I am posting!!!

I mentioned in a few comments that my original draft for Crush was about 20k longer than what I posted. A lot of this was just extra long waffle on my part, but there were a few scenes that I really didn't want to cut, (it's so hard!) but had to, because 80k and counting is just too damn long already ;-)

Anyway, I'm going to post some of them, so here we go with quite a lengthy scene where Sam goes to Portland for an academic conference, and misses Dean, and really... that's it, that's about all that happens.

As a warning, I very much doubt that this is going to be the only timestamp in this fic universe, so apologies already for the self-indulgence :D

This monster has the whole shebang of personal switch-hitters including: a lot of outsider POV, Winchester-domesticity (Windomesticity?), angst, hurt/comfort, first-time fraternal fumbling, Superhot Professor!Sam, scarred!Dean, bonded!boys, possessive!Sammy and plenty of explicit established-relationship boy-on-boy action. (Follows canon up to around 4-17).

Summary: Five years after the apocalypse didn’t happen and Sam and Dean have settled down, or as much as the Winchesters can ever settle down. Sam is a college professor and Dean a well-respected small business owner and they’re learning how to balance work, hunting and dog-ownership while coping with the metaphorical and literal scars of war. Life’s not perfect, not for a (sort of) out and proud couple in small town USA with a lot to hide, but they’re dealing, that is, until Dean employs one sexually-confused teenager who develops an unhealthy obsession with both of them... Switching between five years earlier and now, we learn how the boys came together, how they made it through the big fight and whether they’ll ever manage to find that flighty temptress, happily ever after.
